Role

Branding & Marketing Design and Consultant

I was contracted by Durham County Government to lead the branding and marketing efforts for their Employee Wellness Initiative, a program aimed at improving the overall well-being of government employees by promoting key wellness benefits. My role involved developing a comprehensive brand identity that visually unified the program’s multiple components and effectively communicated its mission.

Key Deliverables:
Brand Identity Development:
Designed a cohesive visual identity for the initiative, including logos, typography, and color schemes, representing the program’s core values of health, inclusivity, and accessibility.

Developed sub-branding for five distinct wellness programs, including:
Fitness Centers
Smoking Cessation Program
Wellness Clinic
Mental Health Support
Nutrition and Lifestyle Counseling
Marketing Collateral:
Created a suite of digital and print materials to raise awareness and drive engagement. These included:

Posters, flyers, and banners for employee breakrooms and common areas.
Digital graphics and ads for the county’s intranet and email campaigns.
Informational brochures outlining program benefits and how to participate.
Interactive Intranet Presence:
Designed and integrated a dedicated Employee Wellness section on the county’s intranet, providing a centralized hub for program information, event calendars, and resources. The intranet design prioritized accessibility and ease of navigation, ensuring all employees could access wellness tools regardless of technical expertise.

Outcomes:
Successfully unified the branding across all wellness programs, creating a professional and recognizable identity for the initiative.
Increased employee awareness and participation in wellness programs by 30% within the first six months, as measured by the county’s internal surveys.
Positioned the wellness initiative as a model for workplace health programs within the region.
